Preview, Tier II Semifinals: (6) Frisch vs (7) Ramaz

Updated: Mar 28, 2022

On Sunday, March 27th, the 6th seeded Frisch Cougars will play against the 7th seeded Ramaz Rams for a spot in the Tier II championship game tomorrow. Frisch is coming off a statement win against Fuchs yesterday. The Cougars are led by Alex Zakheim. He has scored 20 plus points in two of their games so far. Look for him to be aggressive in this one. His right hand man Ben Haber has also been playing at a very high level so far in this tournament. The two of them are the keys to the Cougars success.

Ramaz is coming off a victory against the Hillel Heat last night. The Yeshiva League champs will look to follow up their historic season with a Tier II title by advancing past Frisch today. Julius Rubinstein is the key to their offense. If he’s feeling it, they are as good as anyone. When he’s limited, they struggle to put the ball in the basket. The Rams are going to have to play lockdown defense on Zakheim and Haber to win this one.

Cougars guard, Jonny Levine, will be a huge factor in this one. He’s a knockdown shooter and if he can be a good third option for them, they are very difficult to guard. Caleb Rosenfeld is the x-factor for the Rams. If he can be a dominant presence down low, they are tough to beat.

The winner of this matchup will face the winner of (12) Ida Crown vs (16) Berman in the Tier II Championship on Monday.

This Tier II Semifinal will take place in the Max Stern Athletic Center and tip off will be at 5:30 pm. It will be broadcast by Macslive; you can watch here.
