On Sunday, March 27th, the 12th seeded Ida Crown Aces will play against the 16th seeded Berman Cougars for a spot in the Tier II championship game tomorrow. The Aces are coming off a dominant victory against YMC late last night despite starting point guard, Joey Cohen, going down with an injury in the first quarter. Yoni Arnet carried the squad, scoring 25 points with a ton of phenomenal finishes at the rim. He is an elite player in the open court.
The Berman Cougars are looking to continue their surprising run to the Tier II title game. They had a very good performance last night against Mesivta and they will look to carry that momentum into the next one. Ben Winters is the leader of this team. He is going to have to control the pace of this game if the Cougars want to advance. He has to make sure to get the big boy, Andrew Pinchot, involved early and often.
This one is going to be fast paced. The Aces love to get out and run, but they can get sloppy. They had 31 turnovers in their last contest, something that needs to be fixed for this matchup. Berman guards, Erez Epstein and Asher Faulk, can wreak havoc in the open court. Look for them to be super aggressive in transition.
The winner of this matchup will face the winner of (6) Frisch vs (7) Ramaz in the Tier II Championship on Monday.
This Tier II Semifinal will take place in the Max Stern Athletic Center and tip off will be at 7:00 pm. The game will be broadcast on Macslive; you can watch here.
