Preview, Tier II Qualifier: (7) Ramaz vs (23) HA Montreal

On Friday, March 25th, the 7th seeded Ramaz Rams will play against the 23rd seeded Hebrew Academy Montreal Heat for a spot in Tier II. Ramaz did not fare well in their Tier I qualifier yesterday against Magen David. This is quite disappointing coming off of a Yeshiva League championship earlier this week. The Rams, led by Julius Rubinstein, will look to bounce back today against the Heat.

Hebrew Academy Montreal has yet to play in the tournament this year. This will be a very tough matchup for them as Ramaz’s size can cause problems. They are going to have to rely on their upper classmen in this one. Their leadership will play a huge role if they want to pull off a major upset.

Caleb Rosenfeld’s size down low will be a huge factor today. He can change the entire direction of a game with his length. He’s great at getting the Rams second chance opportunities on the offensive glass and he does a phenomenal job affecting shots at the rim on defense. If he is on his game, this team is tough to beat.

The winner of this matchup will face the winner of (9) Katz vs (24) Mesivta in the Tier II Semi Finals on Saturday. The loser will face (17) HAFTR on Saturday in the Tier II qualifier.

This Tier II qualifier will take place in the TABC Gym and tip off will be at 9:00 am.
