The (2) Valley Torah Wolfpack will face the (3) TABC Storm in the Tier I Semifinals on Sunday afternoon. In the quarterfinals, the Storm’s high powered offense pulled away from the Yavneh Bulldogs to win by a score of 67-43. Valley Torah came out with a 58-51 win in a tough game against the Magen David Warriors, mainly due to their defense.
TABC put on an impressive shooting performance getting a 30 point effort from Natanel Benloulou on 11-15 shooting. The Storm got 17 more points from Shmuel Yablok. As a team they shot 51% from the field and 55% from 3-point range. Harry Orlinsky set up his teammates with five assists in addition to his nine points.
Valley Torah’s strength all tournament has been their aggressive high pressure defense. In addition to the 26 and 14 points that Johny Dan and Noam Mayouhas had respectively against Magen David, each had four steals as well. Their defense has made it extremely tough on teams to set up their offenses. The Valley Torah defense against a TABC offense that has been rolling makes for an intriguing matchup.
This Tier I matchup will take place at 4:00 PM in the Max Stern Athletic Center. The game will be broadcast by MacsLive; you can watch live here.
