In the first Tier I qualifying game of the day, the North Shore Lions defeated the Fuchs Mizrachi Mayhem by a score of 55-43. It was a close game throughout, but the Lions pulled away in the fourth quarter and ultimately held on for the victory.
It was a pretty competitive start to the game and North Shore led 13-10 after the first quarter.
North Shore then jumped out to a sizable lead midway through the second quarter, but the Mayhem were able to claw their way back and cut the deficit back to 3 by halftime. The teams stayed neck and neck through the third quarter, but in the fourth quarter, North Shore exerted their dominance and cruised to a 12 point victory.
The scoring for North Shore was spread quite evenly as David Orbach and Ben Falack scored 12 each, Jordan Zarka scored 11, Ben Abizadeh scored 10, and Jonah Carimili added 9.
Only 4 players scored for Fuchs: Ephraim Blau with 19, Nate Jacobs with 12, and Steven Brenis and Adiel Sharvit with 6 each.
With the win, North Shore moves on to face YULA on Friday at 11AM at the Max Stern Athletic Center, while Fuchs Mizrachi will head to the Tier II bracket to face JEC on Friday at 10:30 AM at the TABC Gym.
