Ida Crown vs. Fasman: Saturday Night Showdown Between Chicago Rivals in Tier II Quarterfinals

Tzvi Motechin

On Saturday night at 9:30 PM in the TABC Gym, Sarachek fans are in for a treat as the tournament’s two Chicago representatives — #9 Ida Crown and #13 Fasman Yeshiva High School — square off in a highly anticipated Tier II quarterfinal matchup. With bragging rights, redemption, and a semifinal berth on the line, this all-Chicago matchup promises fireworks.

Ida Crown arrives at this game looking to bounce back after a tough matchup against an on-fire Hillel squad. Despite the tough loss, the Aces showed strong stretches early behind the shot-making of Avi Meyer and the steady leadership of Avi Okner. The team’s regular-season success and resilience speak volumes, and with a few days to regroup, expect a more focused and fired-up Ida Crown group ready to prove they’re still one of the tournament’s most dangerous teams.

Fasman, meanwhile, enters with similar motivation. Though they fell to a powerful TABC team in their opener, the game started with real promise — a quick 5–0 burst that showed what this group is capable of when clicking. Ezra Schwartz led the way with 10 points, including a perfect 2-for-2 from deep, and Adir Amster’s shot-making potential remains a threat for any defense. After a 16-7 regular season and a long-awaited return to Sarachek, Fasman is determined to extend their run and show just how far they’ve come.

This isn’t just a Tier II game — it’s a Windy City showdown with pride on the line. Whether it’s Ida Crown’s balanced attack or Fasman’s gritty energy, both teams will bring intensity, emotion, and plenty of fan support to Saturday night’s primetime clash.

What’s Next?

The winner will advance to the Tier II semifinals and move one step closer to tournament hardware. The loser will shift to the Tier II consolation bracket, but still has one more opportunity to end Sarachek on a high note.
