IDA Crown pulls away late vs. Hebrew Academy of Montreal

Updated: Sep 2, 2019

Benny Albom knocked down two free throws and then laid in a fastbreak bucket to put the IDA Crown Aces up 11 points with one minute remaining. Led by excellent three point shooting in the the second half, the Aces managed to pull away from a tough Montreal Heat team by a score of 69-56.

After a tight first half, IDA Crown poured in some excellent offense. Jordan Benditzion ignited the Aces with a layup from his knees and then rained in a buzzer-beating three pointer to give IDA Crown a 50-41 lead at the end of the third quarter.

For the Montreal Heat, Nachmann Man provided a huge spark off the bench, and with the help of star guard Yoni Drazin, kept the Heat in the game until the very end. Drazin’s aggressive drives and three point shooting, as well free throw shooting, were instrumental to the Heat’s first half success. IDA Crown had a mere 29-28 lead at the half, before the Aces broke through.

Although unable to pull off the upset, Montreal’s strong performance make them one of the favorites to win Tier IV. IDA Crown will play in a Tier II qualifier on Friday morning.
