Hebrew Academy Survives Huge Comeback, Takes Down SCY High 56-47

In a Tier III Consolation game at the Max Stern Athletic Center, the Hebrew Academy of Montreal Heat defeated the SCY High Hawks 56-47. The Heat were in control for most of the game, but the Hawks mounted a furious comeback late in the fourth quarter which came up just short.

It was a slow start to the game, as neither team could set up good offensive looks, but the Heat found their footing midway through the first, and took an 11-4 lead into the second quarter.

Hebrew Academy was able to double their lead in the second quarter, converting on shots both inside and out to head into halftime with a 26-12 lead.

The two teams came out of halftime with a bang, as each team was hitting shots left and right, combining for 35 points in the quarter alone. The Heat converted on a nice inbounds play at the buzzer to give themselves a 43-30 lead at the end of the third.

The tide completely flipped in the fourth quarter, as SCY High knocked down some threes as part of an 8-0 run to bring them within just two points of the Heat after being down as many as 15 points in the quarter. However, the run stopped there, as the Heat responded with an 11-4 run of their own to close the game and come out with a nine point victory.

With the win, Hebrew Academy will move on to face Katz in the 21st place game on Monday, while SCY High will take on Beren in the 23rd place game, also on Monday.
