Gameday Preview: Yeshiva @ Mount Saint Vincent

After back-to-back losses, the Yeshiva University Men's Basketball team (3-3, 1-0 Skyline) is looking to get back on track in a Skyline matchup against Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins (1-3, 0-0 Skyline). Skyline Conference games are now must-wins for the Macs, as they need the Skyline Pool A bid to play in this year's NCAA tourney. The Macs have not lost to Mount Saint Vincent since the 2017-2018 season, totaling ten straight victories against them. After facing high-powered offensive attacks in their past two games, Mount Saint Vincent will provide less firepower; they have failed to surpass 80 points in a single game this season. With Mount Saint Vincent’s only win this season coming by a margin of a single point, the Macs will look to get back on track and avoid falling below .500.

Capitalizing Off of Turnovers:

Mount Saint Vincent has been very loose with the ball this year, averaging almost 19 turnovers per game. The Macs have been great at forcing turnovers this season, averaging almost 18 forced turnovers a game. Being able to turn these extra possessions into points will give the Macs an edge in today's game.

Patient Ball Movement:

Yeshiva will need to be patient on offense and be smart with the ball versus Mount Saint Vincent’s zone defense. They will have to keep the ball moving and wait for the opportunities to present themselves.

Defensive Principles:

The Macs have been torched from three-point range over their past two games, constantly allowing wide-open shots. Their defense is left scrambling on plays, unable to figure out their proper assignments as the play develops. The Macs need to focus on their defensive fundamentals if they want to discard their losing streak.
