It’s a fresh start for the Macs this Sunday as they take on The University of Mount Saint Vincent (UMSV) in a crucial Skyline Conference matchup. Tip-off is at 2 PM at the Max Stern Athletic Center, and with the non-conference grind behind them, Yeshiva is ready to turn the page and make a statement in league play.
Yeshiva (4-6) has battled through one of the most rigid non-conference schedules in all of NCAA Division III, facing opponents with a combined 74.7% win percentage. The tests have been relentless, but those experiences could pay dividends as the Macs begin their push for a Pool A bid and Skyline supremacy.

Offense vs. Defense:
Mount Saint Vincent leads the Skyline in scoring, scoring 73.3 points per game, while the Macs average 67.3. However, the Dolphins’ defense has struggled, allowing 76.8 points per game—ranking last in the conference. Yeshiva must exploit those defensive lapses while staying disciplined on the other end, ranking eighth in points allowed (75.3).
Efficiency is Key:
The Macs lead the Skyline in field goal percentage at 44.9%, while UMSV shoots 41%. YU must stay patient and stick to high-percentage shots, especially inside the arc, given their struggles from three-point range (just 30.5% on the season, seventh in Skyline).
Yeshiva leads the league in free-throw shooting, converting 79.4% of their free throws. UMSV isn’t far behind at 74.5%, but in a close game, the charity stripe could be the deciding factor.
Handle the Ball:
Turnovers have been a significant issue for the Macs, ranking second-to-last in the Skyline with a -2.00 turnover margin. Mount Saint Vincent thrives on creating chaos, ranking second in the conference at +3.20. Yeshiva must protect the ball and limit unforced errors to avoid giving the Dolphins extra possessions.
The matinee marks the start of a pivotal stretch for YU. With a packed Max Stern Athletic Center and plenty of excitement, Sunday is the perfect opportunity for the Macs to lure back their demanding and raucous fanbase with a big conference win.
