For a second consecutive year, the top seeded teams will face off in the Tier I championship.
Shalhevet entered the tournament as the favorite, and now have the ability to fully establish themselves as the best Jewish team in the nation. Coach Ryan Coleman has taken the Firehawks to four consecutive championships, and now leads a well balanced group, hoping to secure a second straight title. Senior Point Guard, and 2018 Sarachek MVP Zack Muller, will also be playing in his 4th title game.
Zack Muller leads the Firehawk group, but fellow Seniors Noah Rossi and Asher Dauer make significant contributions on both ends of the floor. Sophomore Ze'ev Remer hit the game winning free throws in last year's championship victory, and will look to make an impact in this one as well.
Ranked at #2, the Magen David Warriors are a strong, fast-paced team, who have the ability to beat any team in the country. Magen David nearly lost their championship hopes early vs. the Maimo M-Cats, but prevailed on an Edmond Antebi layup to complete a 52-51 victory for the Warriors. Magen David pulled away late vs. SAR to secure a trip to the championship.
Albert Nsiri's electric offensive game will give even the best defense some trouble, and Michael Natkin and Raymond Jajati add superb three-point shooting along with senior leadership. The most dangerous aspect of Magen David's game comes from their transition offense, which could play a huge role in the championship game.
