This will be a rematch of last year’s Tier III 19th place game in which the 19th seeded M-Cats defeated the 13th seeded Panthers. Both of these teams are much improved from last season, and they have much more to play for this time around with a berth in the Tier I bracket on the line.

YULA returns most of its key players from last season including junior forward Yishai Rosenblatt, junior guard Judah Robin, and senior center Daniel Yasharpour. The Panthers are not the biggest team, but they still have a lot of success in and around the rim, whether it be crashing the boards or finishing tough drives to the hoop.

Maimonides also returns many core pieces from last year’s team, and they’ll be hoping to put themselves in position to play multiple Tier I games this time around. They are captained by junior point guard Raanan Gewurz, and senior guard Eitan Bessler, known for his defensive ability. Big man Nathan Weinstock is one to look out for, as well as Oren Spira who can shoot it well from the outside.

With both YULA and Maimonides having lots of tournament experience, we can expect the two teams to put up a good fight.

This Tier I qualifier will take place in the Max Stern Athletic Center and tip off will be at 2:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast by MacsLive; you can watch the game here.
