The Max Stern Athletic Center kicks off Sarachek action bright and early on Friday with an exciting Tier II qualifier.
Fasman Yeshiva High School almost pulled off a stunning upset against #7 Maimonides, and held a six point lead after three. However, Maimonides outscored Fasman by ten in the Fourth quarter, led by Jon Rears, who scored all seven of his points in the fourth quarter, and Forward Jesse Spear, who led the team with 11 points.
Immediately following that game, Katz cruised to victory over Southern California Yeshiva High School by a score of 77-43, led by Noah Mamann’s 20 points and Brendan Lasko’s 15 points.
Hailing from Skokie, Illinois, Fasman is led by three-year starter Doni Miretzky and senior Point Guard Akiva Lafer. Sophomore backup guard Doni Stein is a player to watch; he scored nine points in yesterday’s loss.
Katz Yeshiva, in Boca Raton, Florida, is led by Senior Noah Mamann and by Sophomore Adi Rotenstein.
Tip off will be at approximately 8:30 AM from the Max Stern Athletic Center tomorrow morning. You can watch this game on our website, MacsLive.com.
