The New York-Boston rivalry will take center stage in Sarachek. In what promises to be an electrifying matchup, the #1 Magen David Warriors square off against the #8 Maimonides M-Cats in the Tier I quarterfinals.
The 36-2 Warriors, winners of 22 straight including a Yeshiva League title are coming off a 69-26 demolition against the MTA Lions in their Tier I qualifie on Thursday. They're showing why they're considered the team to beat, with their deep roster and disciplined play. They're hungry to keep their winning streak alive and prove they're truly the best team in the nation.
Maimoides enter after a hard-fought 55-53 victory against the HAFTR Hawks. The Bostonians physicality and transition game led by players like Nathan Weinstock, could give the Warriors a run for their money.
However, it won't be an easy task for Maimonides. Magen David's lineup is deep, and versitale. These Brooklynites constantly keep you on your toes with different looks and their aggressive style of play can overwhelm any opponent. The M-Cats will need to bring urgency and intensity from the start to counter the Warriors' ability to force turnovers and capitalize on fast breaks.
