In an all-Maryland battle, the Berman Cougars took down the Mekor Chaim Cyclones by a score of 60-38. Berman star Asher Falk didn’t play in this one, yet the team was able to come out and dominate from the jump.
Berman jumped out to a quick lead in the first quarter, with freshman Alex August knocking down 4 straight threes. Mekor Chaim was better defensively in the second, but Berman maintained their lead and led by 10 at the half. The third quarter was when the game really exploded open as Berman started to score at will, and they extended their lead to 22 by the end of the third.
Erez Epstein scored 12 points and Gabey Margulies added 10 for the Cougars. Mekor Chaim was led by Dani Carter who scored 13 and Jonathan Rosen who added 9.
With the win, Berman moves on in the Tier II Bracket to face DRS on Sunday afternoon at 5:30 PM at the Max Stern Athletic Center, while Mekor Chaim will face RASG on Sunday morning at 8:30 PM also at the Max Stern Athletic Center.
