The first quarter was a back and forth battle between the Aces and Cougars. The Cougars scored from downtown hitting three threes, while the Aces relied on big man Jonathan Okner to score, having 7 out of 9 first quarter points. The Cougars led 12-9 at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter went a lot like the first with a lot of back and forth play. Both teams were pulling from deep. It was tied 17-17 heading into halftime.
The third quarter started off slow for both teams with neither team scoring in the first two minutes. Ida then hammered it inside and took the lead 28-25 at the close of the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Ida Crown clamped down in their extended 1-3-1 zone, shutting Berman down. The aces started to hit their shots and get out in transition. All this was too much for the Cougars, and the final score was 46-32.
With the win, Ida Crown will face Ramaz on Monday at 12:30PM at the Max Stern Athletic Center for the Tier II championship, while Berman will go to the Tier II consolation bracket and face Frisch on Monday at 10AM at the SAR gym.
