Trailing 42-41 in the final minute, #5 seeded MTA failed to score against a stifling defense by #12 seeded Beren, who sealed the 45-41 upset with a couple of clutch free throws by Albert Katz. Beren guard Yoni Schiff hit five three-pointers en route to a game high 17 points, and power forward Drayton Ratcliff’s dominant play on both ends helped offset a poor shooting night from Beren’s leading scorer, Zach Yoshor.
